Software Revisions -- V6

Here is information about the latest available revisions of the version 6 TypeWell software.  For revisions of other versions, see the page for V8 revisions, V7 revisions, or V5 revisions.

Changes in 645   (June 29, 2015)

  • StreamText linking no longer supported (must upgrade to V7 Premium or higher to link with StreamText).
  • Revised End User License Agreement.

Changes in 643   (August 26, 2013)

  • Fixes problem with false "need to upgrade" message when first linking with a newly created channel.

Changes in 642   (July 3, 2013)

  • Supports the new web-linking servers.
  • Web linking stays connected more reliably.
  • Some dictionary improvements.

Changes in 639

  • Fixed k's to properly become "it's" in Classic mode.
  • shift-Enter no longer turns on expansions in Everywhere.

Changes in 638

  • Now copies entire team name in Web Linking dialog box.
  • Can use {longtime} in PAL entries to include HH:MM:SS time, with seconds.

  • More compatible internet connection from Transcriber to Web Linking server, so it will work on more campus networks.
  • Simplified teaming with Web-browser linking.
  • Shows PAL file location for easier PAL backup, import, and export.
  • Renamed "old-style wireless" to "peer-to-peer WiFi"
  • Installation is smoother on systems with a streamtext connector.
  • No longer expands the current letters when you type shift-Enter.
  • Can now use shift-ctrl-v to do a text-only paste into TW, leaving out the bold, italic, and other formatting from the original source.

  • Fixed capitalization at sentence start of small phrases starting with "a", particularly alot -> "a lot".
  • Some small expansion improvements for Turbo prefixes such as ts->trans and c->cons.
  • Improved status line display for multiple simultaneous local links.
  • Removed some misspelled forms of words from the dictionary.

  • Added Help/Check for Updates to check the internet for a revision update.

  • Capitalized abbreviations like FR/ and S! and any those in the PAL now work right.
  • Added a few thousand missing long words.
  • Etc at end of sentences no longer shows two periods.
  • ctrl-comma now marks the original abbreviation in black, not red, since you probably meant it to be typed that way.

  • Auto-period is no longer inserted after -, +, or * and two spaces, so these characters can be conveniently used as bullets.
  • No longer shows red letters upon ctrl-space back to an abbr.
